Raza Sadiq – Chairperson
Raza is a founding member and responsible for leading a team of volunteers and managing day to day running of the club. He is also responsible for volunteers development and regularly supervises and mentors the younger team members. He is a trained life/sports coach in football, cricket and badminton. He is educated in Community Education & Development, has a degree in Business Management, PG Dip in Equality and Discrimination and Pg Dip in Career Advice, Information and Guidance. He is currently serving as a volunteer director on GCVS board.
Imtiaz Sarwar – Vice Chair
Imtiaz has been involved with ALC for 13 years, starting as a young person attending ALC sessions. He then benefited from the support he received and moved onto Youth Work where he encourages the young people who attend the sessions. He is trained in sports coaching and bring this knowledge to the sessions. He has been involved with various community events such as ‘All Different but United’, playing cricket against Strathclyde Police, and ‘Speak up be Heard’. He also has had various roles within the committee and plays a part in running of the club.
His aims for ALC are that it continues to grow from strength to strength and that there are bigger and better things still to come, which will have a positive impact on the community.
Sabrina Raza – Secretary
Sabrina has been volunteering with the club since its inception and provides much needed secretarial duties. She is a driving instructor, brings 20 years experience of working with learners and coaching them to become safe drivers. She has been involved in developing sports activities for women and actively helps ALC during various events. She is currently completing her fitness instructor qualification to support other women in culturally sensitive environment.
Adil Sattar – Assistant Secretary
Adil joined ALC in 2000 a member participating in the ALC activities. At 17 he became a member of the committee, where he held multiple roles such as a youth representative, team member and youth & football development and as a member of the ALC research group. He was involved in a number of events including Eid in the park and a friendly cricket match against Strathclyde Police. Throughout his journey working with the ALC he has gained a wide variety of certificates from football, cricket and kayaking. Adil has completed an honours degree in Business Technology and is employed in a multinational technology corporation working in IT support.
Rashid Ahmed – Treasurer
Rashid has been with the club for number of years as participants and past few years been active on the committee and elected as a Treasurer. He has recently completed honour degree in Accounts and currently working full time. He is responsible for maintaining financial records and accounts for OSCR.
Zain Mohammed – Cricket Development
Zain has been young participant with the club since 5 years and got elected as a committee member this year . He started HND in health and sports development this year. He plays cricket league and also offers coaching to young participants in ALC. He loves cricket and helps others to grow as healthy and fit adults.
Abdul Haseeb – Sports Development/ Football
Haseeb has been young participant with the club since 5 years and elected as a committee member this year. He is in 6th year at school and excellent cricket and football player. He is responsible for co-ordinating weekly sports sessions and offers coaching to other young people. He loves cricket / football and helps others to grow as healthy and fit adults.
Rizwan Mehmood – Sports Development
Rizwan has been a member of the ALC for eight years and throughout his involvement has developed leadership skills, varying from training and football coaching . He has gained the skills to motivate and help younger members of the ALC. He enjoys working with both the younger members of the club as well as with his peers in the ALC committee.
Asma Mohammad – Women Development
Asma has been with since a year and become a committee member. She is very passionate about developing others and she visited Pakistan to help disadvantaged young people in a school which she really enjoyed. She is an active member and developing services for women.
Iqra Rahim – Girls sports
Iqra is currently in schools and she joined ALC committee this years. She helps with women health and fitness sessions and supports event. She is keen to develop activities for young girls.
Sidrah Rahim – Youth Development
Sidrah joined committee this year and works in a nursery. He has passion to develop young children’s and supports weekly activities for women. She has plans to develop diverse activities for women and youth.
Chris Luke – Co-opted Member
He brings expertise in Business Development.
